This area has strong historical ties to Kibi-no-Makibi, a learned man 1,300 years ago who studied Chinese wisdom and assisted the Japanese government. The are also other sites of historical importance.

This mysterious relief of the deity Bishamon-ten is carved into a giant rock measuring four by four meters and is located atop 130-meter Mt. Ishizuchi. Its precise history is unknown.
